I just don't care

So this will likely be the longest break between posts once the season gets going.  But the fact of the matter is......I just don’t care about Spring Training.

I mean don’t get me wrong.  I LOVE the fact that baseball is back.  After a long cold winter there is nothing better than the pop of the glove and the sound of Jerry on the radio.  However I can’t get caught up in the day to day results.  It is essentially just 6 long weeks of practice.
I used to care.  I used to follow the box scores with a passion and base my hopes for the season on breakouts like Buck Coats, Jason Lane and Josh Towers....but it means nothing. Last season being a prime example; the Jays dominated the Spring sched and then came out flat once the real games began.
So it is fun and all, but I cannot get excited with the day to day and the same old storylines over and over again: best shape of my life, improved team chemistry, he’s working on a changeup....yadda yadda yadda.
Instead I just hope everyone stays healthy and that it is a very quiet Spring.  So far so good*
*although in two weeks we might have to start worrying about Ricky.
